Google users beware of new phishing scam
It has been reported in a recent article by CNBC.com that there is a new phishing scam that is targeting Google users. Security professionals from BitDefender have said that this scam can be hard to block and detect, so users should take precaution to help prevent their account from being compromised.
This phishing scam begins in an email that states to be from Gmail (Google) with a statement similar to “Lookout Notice” or “Mail Notice” that prompts users to increase the email storage to prevent their account from being locked out. It then will try to link Google users to a fake login page and if user’s place in their credentials, then the account credentials data can be stolen. If a user’s account gets hacked then other Google services such as Google documents, Google Play, and Google+ could all be affected.
