Patch Tuesday – Final Security Updates for XP
Microsoft is releasing its final security patches for XP operating system in this month’s (April 2014) patch Tuesday. Included are patches marked critical to address Internet Explorer (version 6-8) for XP systems and a few important patches for the XP system itself. This will mark the end of support for XP systems, although Microsoft has extended the support for the Security Essentials Anti-virus application on XP platforms. Also to note there are critical updates for MS Office, especially since there was a recent security concern for RTF files when opened or viewed in Word that could allow remote code execution.
