We had just posted an article last week about Yahoo adding encryption to their email services, so we feel compelled to post on this recent news. New reports have stated that Yahoo has recently discovered an attack on their system attempting to gain access to user’s email accounts. Yahoo has stated that this attack was intended to collect information such as recently sent emails from the user account. Also, that the attack was on a third-party database that stored user names and passwords. According to an article by Network World website, Yahoo has been busy resetting email accounts that could have been affected, improving security on their systems, working with law enforcement, and using second sign-in verification to help re-secure accounts.
