Twitter is adding an extra layer of security for their user login process to help prevent unauthorized logins. Over the past few months there have been numerous Twitter accounts hacked, in which user information could be compromised, so Twitter is taking more action to keep their user accounts secure. The additional step added to the login process is a verification code to enter following their sign on credentials. Google, Facebook, and Microsoft are just some of the companies that already have this option.
Basically, users will be asked for a verification code after initial login. However, Twitter is taking it an extra step than other companies and the user will be asked to enter the code with each log out and log back in even if it is on the same computer. To sign up for this two-step verification feature, Twitter users can go to their account settings and enable it.
